The I Chong

Aug 25, 2006 - 03:42 PM
Tommy`s new bookOn February 24, 2003, as the U.S. prepared for war in the Middle East, federal agents arrested more than fifty individuals allegedly involved in businesses that sold drug paraphernalia, such as bongs and pipes.

Tommy Chong, best known for his stoner movies with Cheech Marin, was among those targeted. His home was raided, and the agents seized all the inventory from his business, Chong Glass. Seven months later, Chong received a 9-month prison sentence and a fine of $20,000. He was also forced to forfeit $120,000 in assets.

Tomorrow afternoon at 3pm, Tommy will discuss his experiences (and his new book, subtitled "Meditations from the Joint") at Peppertree Bookstore.
