Jul 6, 2006 - 10:50 AMTonight: At 5:30pm, the PS Art Museum's Annenberg Theater launches a new Global Film Series with movies from the GFI archives. First up is Fuse - "A small Bosnian town is turned upside down as it prepares for a visit by then-President, Bill Clinton." Hey, Bubba's a movie star!
Friday: Friday Night at the Movies presents a reception+film (Bringing Up Baby with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant) at 7:30pm in The Gardens on El Paseo. Saturday morning: From 10am-4pm, the Palm Canyon Theatre will be holding auditions for next season. Ah, the roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd.
Saturday evening: It's a double feature at 6pm in the Annenberg Theater: Leisurama ("...a story about a post-war nation searching for peace and diversion on the home front; about the clash of ideologies; about suntans, fishing and outdoor barbeques...") and Desert Holiday ("...a humorous and informative tour of historical Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley as seen through colorful vintage postcards..."). Only ten dollars for ADC nonmembers: that's a whole lotta entertainment for just a sawbuck...
Also Saturday evening: At 7pm, the Summer Music Festival continues at Yucca Valley's Community Center Ballfield with The Answer. According to their website, the band has some absolutely huge drums. Good for them. From what I hear, women are usually impressed by an enormous set of drums.
Sunday: From 9am-5pm, catch the CFA cat show at Cathedral City's Doral Desert Princess Resort. Here, kitty-kitty...
