When in Rome, or Rancho Mirage

I'm of the mindset that when an opportunity arises you may not have a chance to partake in again you jump on it. So, yes I joined the belly dancers. As assistant editor Kip wrote in his earlier blog entry, we were invited to a mixer last night at The Dancing Greek restaurant in Rancho Mirage. I think he may have mentioned something about the belly dancers. While they make the art form look so easy, it's NOT I assure you. On stage with the ladies for maybe a minute was long enough for me. Not that I wasn't having fun. The dancers' energy was so intense and inviting that for a moment I too felt like one of these goddesses, then the side cramp started. I snapped back to reality and went back to my comfort zone -- the dinner table. We were served homemade dishes that were truly delicious. I've...

Yesterday, for example, I attended a function after work along with several of my co-workers that was sponsored by the Palm Springs Desert Resorts Convention and Visitors Authority at The Dancing Greek restaurant at 69-900 Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage on the north side of the street. Imagine, I had to spend time drinking wine with bright, knowledgeable people learning about new and fascinating entertainment venues here in the desert. As if that wasn't enough to break my spirit, I had to sample exquisite Greek dishes, such as Spanakopita, spinach and feta cheese pie in Filo dough, Melitzanosalata, an eggplant dip served with pita bread; while savoring the...
