The Mount San Jacinto State Park has announced that the backcountry hiking trails are now open

PALM SPRINGS, CA - May 3, 2008 - The Mount San Jacinto State Park has announced that the backcountry hiking trails are now open. Overnight camping areas will remain closed.

The first Tram up Monday through Friday is 10am; Saturday and Sunday 8am, last Tram up 8pm and the last Tram down 9:45pm. Visitors to the Tramway's Mountain Station can enjoy lunch or dinner at Peaks fine dining restaurant or Pines Cafe, a casual dining restaurant. Also open to visitors is a gift shop, natural history museum, a theater showing two documentary movies, a cocktail lounge and spectacular views.
