WEEKEND!Tonight: From 7pm-9, you can take an Intuition 101A course at the Healing Arts Center in Palm Desert. Learn meditation techniques to open up your abilities: clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, remote viewing and psychometry. Ah, at last: a "third eye opening class" has come to our desert oasis...

[Also tonight: Don't forget Villagefest from 6pm-10, and free admission to the PS Art Museum from 4pm-8.]

Friday: At 7pm, The Last Five Years opens at the John Calveri Theatre in Twentynine Palms. According to the play's website, this musical "tells the compelling story of Jamie, a nice Jewish boy, and Kathleen, a good Irish Catholic girl, who fall in love, get married, and fall apart over the course of five years." The playwright employs "an unusual temporal shift in the piece, with Kathleen starting at the end of the marriage and working her way back, while Jamie begins on their first date and works his way forward. Only once do Jamie and Kathleen sing together, at their wedding in the middle of the play." Sounds fascinating. I'm sold.

Saturday morning: Meet your guide at the northeast corner of Highway 74 and El Paseo in Palm Desert at 10am for a free one-hour guided tour of the sculpture on El Paseo Drive. "Experience Color." Hm. This might provoke some good ol'-fashioned acid flashbacks...

Saturday afternoon: From 11am-2pm, Palm Springs Harley-Davidson presents a benefit event for the Humane Society of the Desert Orphan Pet Oasis. Ya gotta love their slogan: "Fast and the Furriest."

Saturday evening: At 8pm and 10pm, Dale's Lost Highway features comics from HBO, Comedy Central, Leno, Letterman and Politically Incorrect, to be taped in front of a live audience and broadcast nationally on The Stand-Up. The appearance of special guest star Bruce Vilanch practically guarantees big fun.

Sunday: The Hi-Desert Playhouse in Joshua Tree presents Nunsense II: The Second Coming at 2:30pm. Just when you thought you'd dropped all those old habits...
