That 1980s hairstyle is back with a vengeance.
For the second year in-a-row, attendees are encouraged to let their hair down as part of the Big Hair Ball theme for the fifth annual Meet The Galen membership drive and party Nov. 18 at the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert.
“The Big Hair Ball theme was so well received last year, we just had to do it again,” said Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert managing director Arlene Amick. “We are looking forward to another successful membership drive and invite everyone to come with their biggest hair and enjoy this most memorable evening.”
The annual event serves as a membership drive to inspire new members as well as a season kick off to welcome back existing members. The evening’s entertaining festivities, set amidst the Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden, include complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres by Westwood Catering and Tito’s vodka, music by DJ Alf Alpha, dancing, modeling courtesy of Presage, and beauty bar by Saks Fifth Avenue. Inside The Galen, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the new exhibition, Glass for the New Millennium: Masterworks from the Kaplan-Ostergaard Collection.
Tickets are $65 for individuals and include a one-year Museum membership; $95 for two people and includes a one-year dual membership. Current members can purchase tickets for $40 each or two for $80.
Museum memberships are valid at Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert, as well as the Architecture and Design Center, Edwards Harris Pavilion in downtown Palm Springs. Membership comes with countless benefits including free admission, special members-only exhibition openings, discounts at the Museum Store and Muse Café, among others.
