Coachella 2014: Where to Party in Palm Springs Area

There are plenty of alternatives to enjoy the influence of Coachella

From world famous DJs at the Hard Rock Hotel and LA’s finest indie music groups at the Riviera Palm Springs, to pool parties at the Ace Hotel and Saguaro, the Coachella Music and Arts Festival’s second home has become Palm Springs. 

Crash the Harpers Bazaar Party and dance all night with the hottest underground party, Taking Shapes.

Even if you didn’t get a ticket to Coachella, there are plenty of opportunities to experience the festival in other ways:

 

Hard Rock Hotel, 150 S Indian Canyon Drive, Palm Springs

When: April 11-13, April 18-20.

When:  April 11-20.

Who:  Riviera guests and general public.

What: 1950’s styled Palm Springs pool parties with DJs and live music from KCRW DJ Garth Trinidad, Tori Roze, Lindsey Harper Band, DJ Shasta, Indian Summer, The Heavy Guilt, Zulluu.

Making Shapes

When: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., April 12

What: LA’s hot underground party comes to the desert for an all-night event. DJ sets by Francois K, Tensnake, Split Secs and Modernluv.

What: Tilly’s-Dickies Party DJ performances by Thee Mike B, Jayceeoh, DJ Equal and more.

The Do-Over

Where: ACE Hotel & Swim Club, 701 E. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs.

When: Noon to 6 p.m., April 13 and 20.

Who: Open to the public (21+).

WHAT: Returning for it’s fourth year in a row, the Do-Over partners with Adidas to host this classic Coachella pool party.

 

Desert Gold

When:  April 10-21.

Where:  Ace Hotel & Swim Club, 701 E. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs.

Cost: Free

Who:  Open to the general public and all ages, but priority is given to hotel guests. Arrive before noon. Events in the Amigo Room are 21+.

What: Festival NRMAL runs at the Swim Club pool from noon to 6 p.m. and the Amigo Room from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Harper's Bazaar Party
