Fade to black. The lights went dark under The Big White Tent to mark the start of Gemma Kahng’s haute couture collection as Saxony Fashion Week El Paseo 2015 rounded out its last night. The evening benefited Fashion Group International Palm Springs.

Kahng brought down the standing-room-only house Saturday evening with an impressive showing of her design aesthetic. Kahng’s rich, timeless presentation moved from a monochromatic palette of soft, ethereal whites to black and then red.
Romantic silhouettes emerged on the runway with a vintage aesthetic. Tailored jackets, polished cocktail dresses, and striking gowns were accompanied by hand gloves, shoulder wraps, and capes to finish each look.
Kahng displayed her expert craftsmanship and affinity for detail by intricately weaving lace, floral appliques, and ruffles into the looks. Leggings also made an appearance in the collection as did fur trims, high necklines, sheer overlays, and crystal accents.
As the show ended, the audience gave Kahng a standing ovation as she greeted onlookers from the runway. The star-powered finale was a fitting ending to Saxony Fashion Week El Paseo 2015. Opulent. Sexy. High Fashion.
