World Cuisine With A Tropical Twist.
One of the hottest restaurants and go-to nightspots now celebrating its ninth year, there’s a lot to love about the award-winning Tropicale. But there’s one element that usually tops the list of favorites — the restaurant’s romantic outdoor patio, which many call the best in Palm Springs with its lush vegetation, festive lighting, tranquil water features, and tropical atmosphere.
A former 1960s-era auto body shop reimagined by entrepreneurs Rob Kuenzi, Ranz Wienert, and Chef Tony Di Lembo, it won’t be hard to find something fabulous on the locally sourced, seasonally inspired menu. Focused on world cuisine with fresh organic products, chefs Tony Di Lembo and Scooter Kanfer create everything from Hawaiian ahi poke with taro root chips and organic filet mignon with jumbo prawns and lobster butter to the beloved buttermilk-marinated boneless fried chicken, the only dish that’s remained on The Tropicale’s menu since its inception. There’s also a weekly lineup of its famous specials, Sushi Sundays, and a weekend brunch with bottomless champagne and Bloody Marys garnished with house-pickled seasonal vegetables. Breads, sauces, dressings, and much more are created in-house along with the spectacular desserts from pastry chef Calvin Yeap.
Whether you opt for a banquette in the dining room modeled after an old Havana supper club, a seat outside under the starlit sky, or a leather stool at the Coral Seas Lounge bar, enjoy crafted cocktails, mojitos with housemade organic mojito mint tea or sip wines produced from organic or sustainably grown grapes.
Enjoy the cool sounds of live jazz each Tuesday and Thursday evening. The perennially popular happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. daily and all night on Wednesdays features discounted drinks along with a menu of fun small plates, including the charcuterie plate, Thai chicken skewers, the crispy nori roll, and curried spareribs as well as an array of homemade pizzas.
