“Helping people earn an education is the most important thing we can do for humanity,” says Bighorn Golf Club Chairman R.D. Hubbard. His strong beliefs led him to form the R.D. & Joan Dale Hubbard Foundation. Together, they have gifted more than $30 million in grants and scholarships.

The Hubbards’ generosity has inspired Bighorn residents to create Bighorn Golf Club Charities, which has given more than 300 scholarships to trade school, community college, and four-year university students within seven years.

“When we ask our members to contribute to a cause, the response is overwhelming,”
he beams.

Bighorn members and the golf club’s 315 employees often organize fundraisers to support the arts, wildlife, veterans, victims of natural disasters, wellness, children’s programs, rescue missions, and educational organizations. Last November, the Bighorn Golf Club Charities Veterans Resources Center opened at College of the Desert to support the 400 veterans attending with career and psychological counseling. Members have gifted more than $33 million for Eisenhower Medical Center, including $3.3 million for cancer patients through Bighorn Behind A Miracle (BAM).

“We encourage every golf club in the Coachella Valley to find their own miracle to support and make a difference to the 500-plus valley nonprofit organizations that need our help,” he says.
