With luxurious, pampering spa services that deliver great value along with silky skin and total relaxation, May is a grand month to show your mother — or yourself — some extra love. Here are a few of the desert’s best specials built around Mother’s Day.

The Spa at Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa offers five special treatments available all month. Two massage treatments — the Bump for Joy for moms-to-be and the Mom Rocks, which uses heated stones and personalized therapy — target muscle aches, stress, and tension. The Mother Glows Best Citrus Sugar Scrub is scented with lime and lemongrass; Belle Pelle Facial creates a luminous fresh effect with oxygen, plant-derived stem cells, peptides, and enzymatic botanicals, and the Mommy Makeover Haircut and Blow-Dry with Essential Mani-Pedi is an extra-special luxury service to get ready for parties and brunches.

On May 12, the Westin’s Spa Soiree features an evening of mini-treatments including specialized massage, Table Thai stretching, scalp treatments, express facials, and more. Admission includes a swag bag, hors d’oeuvres, wine bar, vendor demos, retail discounts and raffles. RSVP required. Call 760-770-2180.

JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa’s May spa specials include the Coco-Luscious Facial and Organic Coconut Sugar Polish. The facial aims to nourish and deeply hydrate all skin types with lime and lavender essences, and a moisturizing masque using fresh coconut pulp blended with coconut oil, coconut milk, and shea butter. The final touch is a custom-blended serum and moisturizer to address specific skin needs. The polish exfoliates with raw sugar and virgin coconut oil, a blend that fights free radicals and is packed with Vitamins A, C, and E; then uses coconut firming lotion to silken and smooth. The Celebrate Mother’s Day package includes both treatments and a $15 spa bistro credit.

Spa Esmeralda at Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa is offering a May-long Mother’s Day package, which includes the Elemis facial, hydrating Frangipani hand and arm massage, and a chilled flute of Champagne, plus take-home travel sizes of Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream and Elemis Cleansing Balm.

Among the many amenities at the Spa at JW Marriott Desert Springs is an expansive whirlpool, recommended both before and after treatments.

Three Mother’s Day packages at the Omni Las Palmas Spa Las Palmas are available only May 8-14. For couples or besties, its the Mom & Me — a Swedish Massage or Deep Cleansing Facial for two, two citrus chicken salads, two ice teas, and a champagne toast. The Wine Down Mani Pedi includes a soothing rose soak, Tuscan grape seed exfoliatiation and application of different melted butters to thoroughly luxuriously moisturize, and a glass of red wine or Champagne. For those with little time, the Relax Sampler offers a 25-minute back, neck and shoulder massage and a 25-minute deep cleansing facial.
